busking in Birmingham on a sunday afternoon

For years I've practised alone - in my car, most recently in my garage. Last year I played at several parties on Reunion Island and was very thankful for the positive response. After all I only improvize and I never play anyone else's music so when I play I am exposing my soul

I write this post with a heavy heart as yesterday I summoned the courage to play in public and I played for nearly an hour - some dazzling stuff - and I got nothing. Not a penny.

What can a man do. Give up? After 25 years of playing... No. Put it down to a bad day at the office. Have to

Anyway I just had to write about this - here on my blog that no-one reads. What an invisible life I lead

trance guitar from Chaouen

Wrote this this trance guitar way back in my 20's when I was back packing around Morocco - recorded it 10 years later in Japan - this fragment is all I've got left - I lost most of my tapes and possessions after taking 3 hits of acid on a beach near Yokohama one night - I fell off the planet for a few years after that and ended up in a mental institution - all water under the bridge now and I've been off the medication for over a decade and somehow even got myself a family. Just shows - you stay alive long enough and all things pass...

trance guitar - the car sessions

So here is a small collection of trance guitar that I recorded in October 2011 - it's trance guitar stripped to the bone - guitar played as a trance-percussive instrument and treading the line between noise and harmonics - no melody just rythym - please feel free to comment - I'll keep doing this whatever but I'd like to know whether I'm considered completely insane to be exploring the guitar in this way

Trance Guitar Movie 2

Here is another short movie with a trance guitar sound track. I recorded this way back before the kids were born when we were living in Summertown in Oxford. It was actually the last time I did any recording using mixers etc - once the kids arrive there's just no time any more. Then my mixer got stolen when we moved house later on and so these days all I can do is play live to a digital camera - which is the format of most of my posts - but there is still plenty of archive trance guitar material like this that I want to publish

The pics are from Lake street in Oxford - where we lived when Ilvira was pregnant with Edith

Enjoy - and please leave a comment if you feel like it

Trance Guitar Forever!

Cheers

Trance guitar movie

Yeah it's not very long - let me know what you think

It's the intro from a trance guitar song I recorded way back -

The pics are of my wife -
